The Crossroads of History and Hollywood: David Ward, Civil War Tours president, is coming to the Avon Free Public Library to talk about giving Stephen Spielberg and Daniel Day Lewis a tour of Gettysburg and the history of Lincoln's visit there. The event starts Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. and more information is available on the town website.

TCBY, raised at least $2,500 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Kids Camp at its second annual TCBY Avon Marketplace Summer Fun Day event. The frozen yogurt shop is located just over the Avon town line in West Simsbury at Avon Marketplace.
