Build Season Has Come to a Close!

Build season has come to a close for the Uberbots but their work is not yet finished!

After six weeks of hard work, build season has finally come to a close. This past Tuesday was the national deadline for building the robot and the robot has been “bagged and tagged”.  This means that they can no longer make changes to design and are limited in the part changes they can make at a competition. Leading up to Tuesday, the UberBots were meeting almost every day of the week, with all-day meetings on weekends. Because of school vacation, snow days, and the approaching deadline, they worked thirteen hours last Monday and Tuesday. Typically the team would have attended the Suffield Shakedown, a practice competition for teams to try out their robot in a real competition before the end of build season. However, the team felt they had more to do, so they used that day as another working day. I can’t share any information about how the robot works just yet, but if you come to a competition, you can see it for yourself. The team took some time off this weekend to rest but will be back in the shop on Monday to finish up the second robot used for driving practice. More to come on that!
