Recently, it was time for the UberBots to continue the annual tradition of hosting an Alumni Night. Anyone who had formerly been on the team was welcome to spend the evening giving important advice to current UberBots and reuniting with other alumni and new members. The night began with each alumni introducing themselves and sharing what college they were currently attending (or had attended), what their major was, and where they now worked or hoped to work. Then, the meeting became an opportunity for everyone to share a snack and branch off in separate conversations. The previous UberBots were a useful and reliable source of information for the present team members. They could offer endless advice about the future, especially helpful hints on applying for colleges. They could share stories of mistakes for others to learn from or how robotics helped put them on the path to success. Alumni Night was also a perfect time for alumni who had been on the team together in previous years to reunite. Many of them have been away at college and this was a perfect chance for them to tell about their experiences or share memories of being UberBots together. This was a memorable and productive night for both current and former UberBots.
Don't forget that this Friday, January 4th, the Uberbots are holding a "Movie Night" at Avon High School starting at 5 pm. Two movies will be shown (Wall-E and Robots), a robot demonstration will take place, and food will be sold. There is a suggested donation of $5 and all ages are wecome!
