Canines Suit Up for the Doggy Bowl

Dogs Take to the Gridiron at Best Friends in Avon

The Ravens-49ers match up isn’t the only big game this week:  dogs of all breeds and sizes donned team colors and hit the gridiron for the annual Doggy Bowl at Best Friends Pet Care in Avon Friday.

The day started with doggy drills, touchdown dancing and a pigskin toss. During the game, the sidelines were filled with cheerleaders in team colors and a Ruff-e-ree. Afterwards, there was a TAIL-gate party and awards were presented for Fastest Running Back, Best Retriever, Best Tackle, Best Kick and MVP (Most Valuable Pup).

"Best Friends Doggy Day Camp is all about healthy, energy-burning fun," said manager Jen Tobias.  "Since dogs love to run and jump, we knew a Doggy Bowl would be lots of fun.

"The best part of the event is that dogs didn't care who won -- they just loved playing the game!"

Best Friends, located at 60 Harris Road in Avon, offers pet boarding, grooming, training and doggy day camp.  For information, visit www.bestfriendspetcare.com.
