Farmington Valley Diagnostic Center Moves to a New Home

(Weatogue, CT) – CREC is pleased to announce that on January 3, 2013, the Farmington Valley Diagnostic Center relocated to its new location at 125 Latimer Lane in Weatogue, Connecticut. Final plans for the move were reviewed and approved by the Farmington Valley Diagnostic Center Advisory Committee and the Educational Resource Collaborative (ERC) in mid-December. The new building offers a superior layout for the Center, including improved classroom and outdoor spaces.

Opened in 1998, the Farmington Valley Diagnostic Center was created by school districts in the Greater Hartford area to serve students with learning, behavior, and mental health issues. The highly successful and collaborative program works with approximately 30 students from throughout the Capitol Region.

The new location welcomed students as they returned from Winter break. The building has the look and feel of a free standing educational center, and all of the classrooms in the new building will have access to outdoor areas, defined by fencing, appropriate for recreational activities.

The new building is at the intersection of Route 10 and Latimer Lane approximately 10 minutes north of the Center’s current location at 395 West Avon Road in Avon. The Center’s new telephone number is (860) 651-3872, and the fax number is (860) 651-3892.

An Open House is scheduled for February 5, 2013 from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm to offer local partners and officials an opportunity to view the new center.
