Avon, Farmington Scouts Collect 9141 Pounds of Food for Farmington Food Pantry
Cub Scout Packs 37, 68, and 170; Boy Scout Troops 68 and 170, collaborated with Farmington's Girl Scouts on Saturday in their annual Scouting For Food Drive. The groups gathered in October to attach flyers to 8,000 bags which were distributed to Farmington households last weekend. On Saturday, the scouts collected and delivered 9141 pounds of food to the Farmington Food Pantry. The pantry serves 185 Farmington families. The pantry distributes 1500 pounds or more of food each week to those in need. If you would like to make a donation to the pantry make your check payable to the Farmington Food Pantry, send it to: Farmington Food Pantry c/o First Church, 75 Main Street, Farmington CT 06032. The scouts wish to thank town residents for their generosity.
