This free, self-paced, self-guided tour of 7 yarn shops will take crawlers from the picturesque Connecticut coastline to the covered bridges of Litchfield County.  Enjoy the fall New England foliage, shop the latest yarns, and bond over your love for all of it. The shops represent every corner of Western CT and cater to every knitter’s palate: Black Sheep Yarns (Kent), In Sheep’s Clothing (Torrington), Knit & Pearls (Avon), New England Yarn (Bristol), A Stitch in Time (Bethel), Nancy O (Ridgefield), and Westport Yarns (Westport).

The shops will entertain “crawlers” with a wide selection of special events, including trunk shows from local and regional artisans, “indie” dyers and designers, yarn tastings, and giveaways. Special edition Tote Bags will be on sale for $5.  Preorder yours at any of the shops to ensure that you have it with you on the crawl, quantities are limited.

Upon visiting each store, you will be eligible to enter a Nightly Drawing for fabulous products (no purchase necessary).  With each of the seven stores holding a drawing all three nights of the crawl, there are many opportunities to walk away with something beautiful!  If you visit all seven yarn shops, your name will be added to a Grand Drawing to be held Sunday night.

The Craft & Yarn Council of America (CYCA) estimates that 40 million people do some form of needlework. The proliferation of online social knitting communities such as Ravelry.com (www.ravelry.com), which claims over 3,000,000 registered users, along with Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter, has helped unite knitting and crochet enthusiasts worldwide.

The Fiber, Friends & Fun Yarn Crawl is part of a localized effort, produced by the Western CT Yarn Council, which manages events and promotions in Connecticut.  For more information, contact any of the shops listed above or visit the Western CT Yarn Council on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/ctyarn).
