JOHN E. LEAVENS M.D., FACEP, JOINS SAINT FRANCIS

John E. Leavens M.D., FACEP, of Avon, a specialist in emergency medicine, has joined the medical staff of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

            Dr. Leavens received his medical degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook School of Medicine. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at the SUNY Stony Brook Department of Emergency Medicine.

            Dr. Leavens is board certified in emergency medicine. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Leavens is also a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Leavens is an assistant clinical professor of emergency medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, NY; New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Old Westbury, NY; Stony Brook University School of Medicine, Stony Brook, NY.  Dr. Leavens will be an active part of the teaching faculty with the newly-expanded emergency medicine residency program at Saint Francis, a joint venture with the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.

            At Saint Francis, Dr. Leavens is practicing as a member of the Saint Francis Medical Group.
