9/11: Avon Boy Scouts Line Route 44 with American Flags

September 11, 2013 marks the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States.

Driving through Avon on the 12th anniversary of 9/11, you will pass through a gauntlet of American flags lining the Route 44 corridor.

Every year, Avon Boy Scouts put the flags up in town in memory of the lives lost in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon as well as the hijacked plane heading for Washington D.C. that crashed in Pennsylvania.

The town of Avon also lowered its flags in the Avon Town Green to half mast in honor of 9/11.
