Avon Senior Center Recognized for "Taking Charge" Program
The center has won an award from the Connecticut Association of Senior Center Personnel.
The Avon Senior Center has won a Program of Excellence Award from the Connecticut Association of Senior Center Personnel, according to a press release sent to Avon Patch.
The award recognizes the center's "Taking Charge" program which provides support and teaches skills for self-advocacy. UConn graduate student Cathiann Velez led the group.
CASCP represents senior center professionals in the state's 156 centers.
