On Sunday, Petit, 55, and Christine Paluf, 34, were married at the Holy Family Passionist Monastery and Retreat Center chapel in West Hartford in front of 300, according to a description of the wedding provided to Patch by Rick Healey, a spokesperson for the couple. Father David Cinquegrani, director of Holy Family led the "nuptual mass." The music of strings and soloists "filled the chapel during a reverent and moving emotional ceremony," the release stated.
Paluf's ivory lace gown was made by "Connecticut-based designer Modern Trousseau," according to the press release. The design is called "Autumn." Healey provided a wedding photo on behalf of the couple to Patch that you can see in the attached photo gallery. The photo was taken by John Benoit.
Robert Paluf gave Petit his daughter's hand before the couple's family and frients. Glenn, Petit's brother, and Caroline, Paluf's sister, were both present.
The wedding ceremony was followed by a reception in Simsbury at The Riverview.
"A blessing written by Dr. Petit's former father-in-law, Rev. Richard Hawke, was shared in remembrance of his family," the press release stated.
According Paluf's Christine Paluf Photography website she's done photography for CNN, People, The New Britain Herald, Hartford Magazine, in Avon and Farmington, , the in Farmington and many other clients.
She also photographed many of the Petit Family Foundation events before their engagement, The Hartford Courant reported.
graduate Hayley Hovhanessian told ABCNews.com that "it was fun" and that many family members and friends were there to celebrate their special day with them. Hovhanessian is an office assistant for the Petit Family Foundation, according to LinkedIn.
The Petit Family Foundation was created in 2007 in memory of Petit's late wife, Jennifer Lynn Hawke-Petit and daughters, Hayley Elizabeth Petit, then 17, and Michaela Rose Petit, then 11, "to help with the education of young people, help those affected by chronic illness and help and protect those affected by violence," according to the organization's website.
, one of two men who set fire to Petit's Cheshire home and killed his wife and daughters in July 2007, was sentenced to the death penalty on Dec. 9, 2011 and his co-defendent is also on death row, ABC World News reported in December 2011.
