Falling Through Sky Elevates Patrick Kral's Dreams

FAVARH submitted this photo of Kral's Oct. 28 skydiving experience.

A day before the Halloween weekend snowstorm, something else was falling from the sky.

Avon resident fulfilled his latest dream of going skydiving on Oct. 28 at Ellington Airport. Trained skydivers from Ellington's Connecticut Parachutists facilitated the jump.

He went with Stephen E. Morris, executive director of The Arc of the Farmington Valley (FAVARH) in Canton.

“If I don’t, he might never be able to," Morris told Patch in mid October.

Kral, 31, came up with the idea over dinner in New Hampshire after becoming the first Special Olympian to summit the 6,228-foot Mount Washington in the snow March 2010.

What's next for Patrick?

More mountains. Climbing Pike’s Peak in Colorado and Mount Rainier in Washington is Kral's next dream. Both mountains stand at 14,410 feet tall.
