Former Avon Principal to Take Over Community Farm of Simsbury

Timothy Goodwin, the current owner, is leaving.

The Community Farm of Simsbury will soon have new leadership as Avon's former prinicipal takes over.

As Executive Director Timothy Goodwin leaves the farm for a new job with Hartford Public Schools, Mark Nolan will take over as interim executive director.

In an email to farm members, Goodwin announced that he will begin his new job as an administrator with Hartford Public Schools on Wednesday, Aug. 22.

"I will greatly miss the farm, and make this announcement with very mixed emotions, on one hand excited about the chance to serve the special students in Hartford's north end, but also sad that my role at CFS will be diminished," Goodwin said.

Nolan was the principal at Pine Grove for 17 years. He recently helped lead an effort to raise $1.3 million for the . Currently he is employed as an executive coach for the CT State Department of Education.
