Life's a Bumpy Road. Crews Set Out to Smooth Avon's Pothole-Ridden Streets.

Avon's roads have taken a lot of abuse from the drastic weather and temperature shifts this winter.

If you've driven over a pothole in town recently, you've likely noticed.

Avon Public Works is on "pothole patrol," the town has announced on its website.

Public Works sent two crews out on Monday, Jan. 13 to repair potholes on Avon's roads, according to newly re-appointed Town Council Chairman Mark Zacchio. Country Club Road and Old Farms Road were high priority areas on the list last week, he said.

"The temperature variations are wreaking havoc on the roads," Zacchio said. "Crews will continue to work around town as weather permits."

Town officials are aware of the potholes and Public Works crews "are working to address them as quickly as possible," Zacchio said.

Town officials encourage drivers to be careful and patient throughout the season when passing through work zones to keep the crews safe.
