Storm Central: Winter Storm Warning in Effect
The latest updates on the Jan. 21-22, 2014 snowstorm.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning, wind chill advisory and hazardous weather outlook for Hartford County.
Avon schools closed early on Tuesday, as well as the Avon library, due to the weather. The Recreation and Parks Department also canceled all activities.
The storm warning is in effect until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22 and the wind chill advisory lasts until 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
The weather service anticipates as much as 5 to 10 inches of heavy snow and temperatures could drop as much as 16 degrees below.
