The Crawling of the Leprechauns

The annual leprechaun races were held Thursday at the Enfield Square mall with babies from throughout the region vying for the grand prize: a $1,000 savings account.

The Enfield Square mall was filled to the brim with little leprechauns on Thursday. Really … little leprechauns.

Babies decked out in various shades of green brought their parents and lots of toys to the Sears concourse for the annual leprechaun races sponsored by 96.5 WTIC Radio and Rockville Bank.

There were four heats of eight to 10 babies each, with the winner of each heat vying for the grand prize – a $1,000 savings account at the bank established in the winning baby’s name – along with various gift certificates from shops within the mall.
