'260 Potatoes in an Egg Carton': Avon Middle Poetry Anthology Released

Students rapped the poems at an unveiling ceremony on June 10.

The Avon Middle School Midnight Writers released "260 Potatoes in an Egg Carton" June 10, a poetry anthology of 260 student poems.

Students rapped the poems, some that they wrote and others authored by their peers, backed by Principal Marco Famiglietti as DJ.

Student Ryan Miller's poem, "Ode to iPods," rapped by Holden Worth, Sam Keel and Riley Lynch, won first place. Christina Matsika's poem, "Lightning Bolt," performed by Fudi Xu, took second. Madi Clapper's "Ode to Summer," recited by Risa Lewis and Lindsay Altshuler, placed third.
