40th ANNIVERSARY OF OLD AVON VILLAGE, NOW AVON VILLAGE MARKETPLACE

It all started 40 years ago, when 4 small homes at the intersection of routes 44 and 10/202 were transformed into retail stores. For the next 25 years, neighboring houses, barns, farms, and carriage houses were converted and modified into the thriving commercial business and retail center that we know today.

Nowadays, Old Avon Village boasts an 18-building marketplace, with some buildings even dating back to the 1830s. Some of our merchants still remember the quaintness of this time, such as The Little Silver Shop who has called The Village home for the past 51 years. While the village is proud of its history, we are most enthusiastic about celebrating of the 50 businesses that currently ‘live’ in The Village.
The Village hosts small, friendly businesses, filled with personable owners dedicated to customer service. Our marketplace is home to art and clothing boutiques, restaurants, spas and salons, jewelry and consignments stores, antique and home decorating businesses, pet and pet supply stores, a coin trading and collecting service, a knitting supplier, and consumer and community service organizations.

Please join us September 21st, 22nd and 23rd as we celebrate The Village’s 40th Anniversary! We will be holding festivities to commemorate our rich history and celebrate our 50 current businesses.
As always, The Village is looking toward the future, so at this time we are pleased to announce that we are no longer “Old” Avon Village. We have chosen a name that reflects the future and what we are becoming: a go-to, local retail and business district. Please welcome the “new” Avon Village Marketplace! Come visit and celebrate with us as we recognize the excellence of our businesses, host an Arts & Crafts Show, and offer special prizes, discounts, and giveaways.
The 40th Anniversary Celebration will feature:

-Free Birthday dessert
-Photographs taken in our iconic rocking chair
