Star Books Workshop with Avis Turner

This holiday season, give gifts that are personal, thoughtful and one-of-a-kind by registering for one or all of the "Create a Holiday Gift" workshops at the Farmington Valley Arts Center (FVAC). Offered each Saturday through December 17 from noon until 2 p.m., these sessions are open to all adults: No artistic experience is required.

The cost for each session is $25 at the door or $20 with advance registration by the Friday before, plus materials fees payable at the workshop. Call the FVAC at 860-678-1867 for details and to register for the third workshop, scheduled for December 3:

Create star-shaped, accordion-folded blank books that can be used as journals, sketchbooks, poetry notebooks or photo albums. Embellish the covers with papers, paint and mixed media supplies to create truly customized gifts. (Materials fee: $5 per book)
