Farmington Valley Film Commission Hosts 3rd Annual Film Fete & Mixer

Event held at Bridge Street Live.

To many members of the Farmington Valley Film Commission the most exciting aspect of its 3rd Annual Film Fete & Mixer was its increase in popularity.

The event showcases films that area at least partially shot or produced in the Farmington Valley.

During its first year, the commission showed 9 films and last year about 11. This year it was 16. In addition, the estimated crowd of 130 at Friday night was the largest yet.

"It's definitely building," said Nancy Anstey, a member of the commission and Executive Director of the Avon-based Farmington Valley Visitors Association.

Anstey was also excited to see several new faces at the event this year, as well as many long-time supporters.

Steve Emirzian, a Canton writer, director, actor and producer said he was also excited about the quality of this year's submissions.

"The films have gotten better and the production values are getting better," he said. "Hopefully the next year will be even bigger."

WNPR personality and photographer Chion Wolf once again emceed the event this year. Keyboardist and vocalist Cassandra Kubinski provided entertainment with help from drummer Dane Scozzari.
