Avon schools score big! It's all in the numbers!

Avon scores improved overall in the 2013 Connecticut Academic Performance Test.  Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this improvement. We are so fortunate to have a dedicated group of educators, leaders and politicians working hard as a group in our town for the greater good of all. As we all know, success begins at home! Hats off to the parents of these exceptional students as well!

OUR SCHOOLS ARE NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED AND A GREAT VALUE

Recently Forbes Magazine listed Avon as the ONLY town in CT to be a “Best Schools for your Buck” (mouse over Northeast on the Map).  That national recognition is important for several reasons.  First, it validates that Republican leadership works for Avon.   Second, it exposes our town as a premier destination for those who are looking to relocate to the Hartford area from within and outside the State.  Third, it highlights that Avon delivers exceptional education for affordable money.  That recognition draws families and business to Avon.

Any claim that our schools don’t compete locally, statewide, or nationally thereby decreasing property values is unfounded.   The current effort to claim our schools and town ranking are slipping are also unfounded.  What is important from the recent Hartford Magazine ranking is that Avon was ranked as the top community in its class in the Hartford County area, and is now compared with communities like Greenwich, New Canaan, Madison and Wilton.  The simple fact is that no matter the metric or the classification, Avon continues and consistently delivers strong results year after year.

Continue Avon's Success by electing all Republicans this November 5th. Vote ONLY Row A.
