Douglas Evans, Town Council candidate for Avon

Douglas Evans, Avon Republican incumbent candidate for Town Council, demonstrates the experienced leadership and keen attention to detail on town matters to Deliver Results that consistently present solutions that are best for the Town of Avon and all its residents.

I am grateful to be part of the Republican leadership on the Town Council that is unwavering in its commitment to making sure the Town is run in an efficient, conservative and fiscally-prudent manner.  The Town of Avon is strong, boasting a AAA credit rating and a low equalized mill rate. Rising property taxes are always a concern to the residents of Avon, and it is the responsibility of the Town Council to exercise moderation in balancing the needs of the Town with the costs to its residents.  To that end, the Council has forged collaborative agreements and supported regionalization to save tax dollars.  I supported passage of an ordinance providing tax relief for veterans who meet Federal criteria.  At the same time, Public safety and welfare of the residents has been and is always paramount.  During this past term, the Council worked with police and school officials to authorize the installation of building security measures at the schools for the safety of our students.  The Council also authorized new equipment for the police, expanded Town sidewalks and curbing thanks to grant money, approved a new traffic light on Lovely Street, and funded paving and road improvements.  I supported the Council’s commitment to clean energy which included participation in the Commercial and Industrial Property Assessed Clean Energy (CPACE) Program.  By meeting the community’s demand for balanced and responsible spending, the Council has fostered both a business –friendly environment and a truly great place to live and raise a family.

Avon Republicans Deliver Results.  Experience Leadership Collaboration
