Anderson Automotive Changes Owners

Tolland native Graham Scelfo is now the owner of the repair shop and gas station on Route 195.

Graham Scelfo is the proud, new owner of Anderson Automotive, the full-service mechanical repair shop and gas station located just off of I-84 on Route 195.

Scelfo, a Willington resident and Tolland native, said that he plans to closely follow the business precedent set by former owner Peter Anderson. Anderson has stepped down after running the station and shop for 30 years.

"I can only hope that you will embrace and continue to trust him like you did me," Anderson said to Tolland residents about Scelfo. He thanked residents for their support and friendship in an announcement posted on Tolland Patch.

Scelfo said he first worked at Anderson Automotive when he was 16 and that he has continued to be employed there on and off throughout the years.

"Anderson did a great job here for many, many years," Scelfo said. "Everything I've learned about this business, I've learned from him."

Scelfo officially purchased the business on September 14. He said that it has been a very smooth transition.

Pete, happy to see you've taken care to pass the business onto someone who will continue the good work and sense of community you've always promoted at Anderson. Enjoy your retirement and hope to see you about. Graham, congrats. We'll continue to support the business with our vehicle needs. The recent Kframe crack repair made during the brake job done on my Jag might have saved me from a major failure. Good catch!

Congratulations Graham. I can't count the number of times Pete, Graham and all the other techs went above and beyond to help me when I was unable to fix something myself. Growing up in the automotive industry and being a tech myself I know this business will continue to succeed. It's rare to find a great local gas and repair station like this. A place that still has an air hose out for customers to check their tires. It's the little things Pete does for his customers that keep them coming back. Peters generosity and character contributed greatly to his success. Graham was fortunate to learn from one of the best, so I'm sure he'll continue those traditions. I always enjoyed the Christmas Party, hopefully that will be a tradition that continues on as well. Enjoy retirement Peter, and best of luck Graham!
