Avon's Local Grill Opens for Dinner

A new restaurant opened earlier this fall, joining the Avon dining scene.

The Local Grill in Riverdale Farms is starting off with dinner hours from 4:30 to 9 p.m. seven days a week.

The restaurant is run by former West Hartford Back Porch Bistro owner Mark Resnisky, of Farmington, and head chef Butch Tougas, of Newington. For the full story, click on the link provided. 

Appetizer pricing ranges from $5.95 for a butternut crabmeat bisque to $10.95 for smoked trout quesadillas, chilled agave shrimp, corn and crab cake, Angus beef sliders. Dinner items start at $9.95 for a brie, bacon, onion, hot pepper and apple grilled cheese. The most expensive entrees cap at $19.95, including steak stuffed mushroom caps, Arctic char fish,  and pan seared scallops.

Happy hour runs from open to 6 p.m. with 25 percent discounts on food and $1 off wine, draft beer and well drinks.  The restaurant has cocktail suggestions on its website, as well.
