Avon Resident Appearing on Cheerios Box

Two of the faces on a special edition Cheerios box may look familiar, especially if you shop at ShopRite in Canton!

Thanks to their fundraising efforts during ShopRite’s Partners In Caring initiative to benefit local food banks, Canton ShopRite associates Marissa Gaudiana of Avon and Patrick Goulet of Burlington are featured on a special edition Cheerios box.

The special edition box was unveiled during a ceremony at the ShopRite of Canton on Friday, March 28.

“We recognize the need in our communities and are happy to do whatever we can to help feed our hungry neighbors,” said Chuck Joseph, owner of Joseph Family Markets. “We are so proud of the passion and dedication of our associates, who rally around this cause. It truly is a team effort.”

The ShopRites of Canton and West Hartford are owned and operated by Joseph Family Markets, a locally-owned business founded in 2010 by Chuck and Debbie Joseph.

As one of the winning stores, and the top fundraising store in the state, ShopRite of Canton was honored with the selection of two associates featured on 125,000 special-edition Cheerios boxes, sold exclusively at ShopRite stores.

To earn the honor, the Canton team raised more than $13,676, followed by the Joseph Family’s West Hartford store. That store raised $9,660, bringing the total to more than $23,330. Since the company’s inception in 2010, Joseph Family Markets has contributed over $93,000 to the local fight against hunger.

ShopRite associates collected donations at check-out and held various events, raising $1.24 million to support local food banks. Associates across six states banded together in a friendly competition sponsored by ShopRite and General Mills, the ShopRite Partners In Caring Annual Cheerios Contest, according to a press release from Carrie Titolo, Community Relations Manager for Joseph Family Markets.
