Bakers age 50 and over are invited to compete in a cookie tasting and cookie decorating contest at the Avon Senior Center. Entries are due between noon and 2 p.m., and should be accompanied by a copy of the recipe. Judging begins at 2 p.m. Prizes will be awarded. The contest is sponsored by West of Hartford at Home, an agency that works with seniors so that they may continue to live at home.
