Most businesses and town offices are open, but all Avon Public Schools Board of Education and Administrative Offices are closed, along with all public and private schools in Avon except Avon Old Farms School. Avon Patch has listed a sampling of businesses open and will update the list as the day goes on. 

Schools: 

• Avon Public Schools: closed
• Talcott Mountain Academy of Science, Mathematics and Technology: closed
• Reggio Magnet School of the Arts: closed
• Farmington Valley Academy Montessori: closed
• Avon Old Farms: open

Town and Government Offices

• Town Hall: all buildings open
• Public Works: open
• Avon Public Schools Administrative Offices: closed
• Avon Post Office: open
• Avon Public Library: open, but closing early at 5 p.m. due to icy road conditions.

Businesses

• Big Y: open, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Starbucks: open, 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Top Driver Driving School: open for classroom instruction
• Avon Family Dentistry: open, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Healthtrax Health and Wellness Center: open, 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Friendly's: open, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Rite Aid Pharmacy: open, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
