Simsbury Natives' 'Goat 4 Sale' Doritos Ad Shown Nationally During Super Bowl

The ad won a Doritos contest for a Super Bowl commercial spot with 1.2 million votes. It isn't 'Goatgate' but it definitely involves a goat. Simsbury High grads produced the ad.

Goats have done it again. Simsbury now has two claims to fame thanks to the almighty goat.

First it was a high school prank that left four pygmee goats stranded on an overhang at the entrance to Simsbury High School. Simsbury quickly became known as the town where the 'Goatgate' scandal took place.

This time around the reason for celebrity is, according to some, well, a more socially acceptable use of goats on national television. 'Goat 4 Sale,' an advertisement featuring a jealous goat and his owner that was a finalist in the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest, landed producer Ben Holst and fellow Simsbury High alumni Jeremy Gilbertson in when their add during the 2013 Super Bowl on Sunday.

According to the Doritos website, 'Goat 4 Sale' ended the voting period with over 1.2 million votes.

Vote totals:

Goat 4 Sale:  1,216,333
Fashionista Daddy:  1,002,366
