What's Open, What's Closed on Good Friday
Today is a Holy Day in the Christian calendar, but not an official federal holiday.
April 22 is Good Friday. Most state and local government offices are closed but mail will be delivered and many businesses are open:
- Avon Town Hall: closed
- Avon Free Public Library: closed, but reopens Saturday
- Avon public schools: closed for April vacation
- Avon landfill: closed, but reopens Saturday
- Banks: most are open
- U.S. Post Offices: open
- State government offices: closed
- Supermarkets: open
- State courts: closed
- Liquor stores: open
The Rotary Club of Avon-Canton will not hold its regular Friday morning meeting this week.
