The Canton Amateur Summer Theatre program, in its second year, puts on a musical you might want to see this weekend.

Canton Amateur Summer Theatre will present 'Grease' this weekend and many graduates are overseeing the production.

"I've really seen that teamwork is integral," he said. "It's the most important part of this."

Canton Amateur Summer Theatre involves a five-week Parks and Recreation Department "camp," in which area youth learn the production and about acting roles and behind-the-scenes duties. It also involves some fun acting games. The program culminates in the production.

Helping him for this second year of the program are stage Manager Abby Moore, a 2012 Avon High School graduate, producer Jillian Goeler, a 2012 Canton High School graduate and musical director Hannah Cole, a 2009 Avon High graduate.

The show takes place Aug. 3 and 4 at 7:30 p.m. and Aug. 5 at 2 p.m. in the auditorium. Cost is $12 for adults and $8 for students and those 55 and older. Tickets can be purchased at the Canton Parks and Recreation Department or at the door.
