Avon Photo of the Day: Are These Your Missing Beagles?

They were found on Woodhaven Road on Thursday night.

If you are missing your two beagles, Avon-Canton Animal Control is looking for the owner(s) of two found in Avon this week.

Avon-Canton Animal Control Officer Beverly LaPlume picked up two beagles roaming on Woodhaven Drive Thursday evening near Ridgewood Road. One is a female puppy and the other is male about 4 years old.

No one has claimed either of them yet, she said Friday night.

One of the dogs had a collar and a rabies tag, however the "phone number associated with the rabies tag was disconnected with no forwarding number," LaPlume said.

If no one claims the dogs, they will be advertised and put up for adoption.

LaPlume said that if either of these beagles are your dog, you can contact her at the Avon Canine Shelter at 860-409-4205 or call the routine Avon police dispatch number at 409-4200.

Some must recognize these dogs. Hope owners located soon. Beagles can travel long distances. Vet who issued rabies tag should be able to say who owned dog when tag was issued. Rabies tags have year issued and vet name phone address on them. We're they scanned for microchips? Hoping Avon has scanner. Cute beagles

Cute dogs. Avon does have a scanner. My dog was inadvertently let out once by the housekeeper and her safe return was thanks to the chip scanner. Avon animal control is very thorough. I'm sure steps were taken to find the owner based on the tag info. Any animal can travel long distances. Don't think that's exclusive to beagles. Hope their owner steps forward.
