Avon Patch reader Peter Hayes saw some rare visitors to the Rivermead condominium complex the first week in January.
He saw three bobcats emerge from the woods Jan. 7 for an afternoon stroll at the snow-covered setting, possibly a mother and her full-grown offspring.
"The one thought that came to mind was that I could wait multiple lifetimes to ever have the chance to see three of these beautiful reclusive animals at the same time," Hayes said. "I was working at my desk next to the sliding doors and slowly picked up my camera to avoid startling them. As soon as I raised my hand to take the picutres all three turned there heads towards me noticing the movement of just my hand raising up to take the pictures."
Rivermead is off of Waterville Road, not far from Avon Mountain.
Hayes said the bobcats were following rabbit tracks in the snow.
