Five Things to Know About Avon Today

1. Ask the Attorneys at the Senior Center

Local Avon Elder Law Attorneys Marcia Hess and Neil  Kraner will answer questions from the public. The event will take place at 12:30 p.m. at the Avon Senior Center. Seniors can sign up by calling the center at 860-675-4355.

2. Perfect Toy purchases benefit Thompson Brook PTO

Fifteen percent of the proceeds from the Perfect Toy on Thursday from 5pm to 8pm will benefit the Thompson Brook Parent Teacher Organization. Refreshments will be available.

3. The Administrative Services Study meeting scheduled for Thursday night at 7 p.m. is cancelled.

4. Avon High School Girls Varsity Basketball vs. Somers

Avon girls varsity basketball will play Somers Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Somers High School.

5. Highs of 28 degrees predicted Thursday

The National Weather Service anticipates increasing clouds throughout the day in Avon, with partial sun. Wind gusts as high as 28 miles per hour are possible, as well as westerly wind traveling between seven and 14 miles per hour. Clouds are expected to cross the  sky into the evening, when the wind may slightly die down.
