Avon and Canton Patches are so close to reaching 1,000 Facebook likes by year's end and we need your help.
As we get our sites ready for a new look come Dec. 16, your friendly neighborhood Patch editors plan to go with new looks as well if you help us achieve our goal.

I will have my dark blonde hair dyed red if we summit to 1,000 likes on the Avon Patch Facebook page by midnight New Year's Eve. Canton Editor John Fitts has agreed to get his brown hair highlighted if Canton Patch gets there too. To up the ante even more, I will get red hair and highlights if both Avon and Canton Patch earn 1,000 Facebook likes by the end of 2012.
We've decided our hair color is a small sacrifice to give your stories more visibility by growing your audience on Facebook.
As of Thursday afternoon, Avon Patch was at 710 Facebook likes and Canton had 812.
If Avon readers like Canton's page and Canton users like Avon's in return, it's possible. Share our pages with your friends and we'll get there. If each of you gets one person to like our page, that will also do the trick.
