Memorial Day Memories, Request for Senior Picnic Photos and Meetings

Happy first day of June, Avon! Are you getting back into the swing of things after the long weekend? How did you celebrate Memorial Day? What are the stories of your lost loved ones? The weather did rain on Avon's parade, which was canceled, but it sure did not dampen Avon's spirit. Photos of the Memorial Day service that took place at the senior center Monday are online.

Unfortunately, Monday is not the end of inclement weather this week. The National Weather Service is predicting showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. on Wednesday, though it is supposed to clear up by the evening.

If you get this newsletter in time, the Avon Free Public Library Building Committee is meeting at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning in the Selectmen's Chamber in Town Hall, building one. The Clean Energy Commission meets in the Avon Room in the basement of Town Hall, building one, at 7 p.m. Avon Day brainstorming is on the agenda, among other things.
