Police: Windsor Locks Man Stole 13 Credit Cards

The following information was provided by the Avon Police Department and does not indicate a conviction.

Thirteen regular and store credit cards and a wallet were stolen from a car on Secret Lake Road in Avon on Nov. 3, 2011, according to .

The man they believe is responsible was previously convicted of several other burglary and larceny incidents in the state.

Police arrested Richard Corlette, 46, of Windsor Locks, on Febn. 9 for charges of third-degree burglary, a Class D Felony, and sixth-degree larceny, a Class C misdemeanor.

Corlette was already incarcerated when the warrant was served to him in Hartford Superior Court that day, Lt. Kelly Walsh, spokesperson for the said Friday.

In 2004, he was found guilty in Bristol Superior Court of 12 counts of third-degree burglary after a September 2003 incident in Southington, according to the state judicial website.

He was also convicted for incidents of third-degree burglary in Farmington in 2005, Windsor and East Windsor in 2007. Corlette was found guilty of fifth-degree larceny in Old Saybrook in 2008 and commiting sixth-degree larceny in Hamden in 2002. In 2004, he was convicted for illegal use of a credit card in Berlin in 2003.

His next court appearance for the Avon charges is March 20 and he has not entered a plea yet, according to the state judicial website.

Avon police recovered two of the regular credit cards stolen and also found two of the stolen store credit cards. Nine of the cards are still missing.

Police are not releasing the address where the incident happened protect the identity of victim, who is a Secret Lake Road resident, Walsh said.
