Rescued Black Lab Mix Escapes from Foster Family

Have you seen Sassy? The dog ran off just after her Farmington foster family brought her home from an adoption event near the Avon town line.

A Southern rescue dog that just arrived in Connecticut Saturday escaped the next evening from a foster family's home in Farmington.

The family had just brought Sassy, 2, a black lab mix home to Farmington Sunday from a Double Dog Rescue adoption event at Roaring Brook Kennels in Canton near the Avon town line.

The foster family lives at  Farmington Chase Crescent near Route 6 by the Bristol town line.

“The dog slipped out of her harness and ran off," said Sherry Tilsch, of Avon, a volunteer for Double Dog Rescue.

Sassy, who is not wearing a collar or tags, was las spotted on Mountain Road in Farmington by Miss Porter's School. She has dark fur and weighs 95 pounds.

Double Dog Rescue requests that anyone who spots Sassy should call 860-748-5470 or 781-385-9094."

“She’s very friendly, but she’s very shy," Tilsch said. “I wouldn’t suggest they’d approach her because she’d probably just run off.”
