Spring Concert, Re-Employment Support and Springtime Revel

Five things to know on April 20, 2011

Free music and food? What could be better than that? The Simsbury Community Band will perform a spring concert tonight at 7 at the Avon Senior Center. The public is welcome, admission is free and refreshments will be served.

Are you looking for work? The St. Ann’s Re-Employment Group meets every Wednesday night from 7 to 8:30 in the church activity room for speakers, discussion topics, networking and support. The meetings are open to all. There is no charge, registration is not required and attire is casual. Park to the left of the main church entrance and enter through the double doors, then go downstairs to the meeting.

Tickets are still available for tonight’s Springtime Revel with Michael Moschen and Bob Berky to benefit the Farmington River Watershed Association. Moschen is reputed to be among the world’s best jugglers and Berky is a writer, actor and theatrical clown who has performed all over the world. A good time seems pretty much inevitable. Proceeds will support the association’s river protection and restoration projects. The show starts at  7:30 p.m. at Infinity Hall, 20 Greenwoods Rd West in Norfolk. Tickets cost $35 and $50 and may be purchased at infinityhall.inticketing.com.
