Five things to know about March 29, 2011.

For anyone who is signed up for town of Avon newsletters, the categories have been changed. If you are subscribed for "public notices," those e-mails will now be tagged as "community news." The "meeting agendas" newsletter is now named "town news, meetings and agendas."

According to the town website, community news consists of "community-wide topics" such as "annual parades, Farmington Valley Arts Center and Avon Historical Society events, community fundraisers, annual special events such as Avon Day,  program announcements of local organizations such as Avon Newcomers Club or Avon Lions Charities, et cetera." Announcements of special meetings, referenda details and press releases will fall under category and "Town news, meetings and agendas." Meeting dates and agendas for town boards and committees will be released under "town news...." The other three categories remain the same.
