Viewfinder: 80 Participants Compete in Second Annual 'Tee Off for Women'

The women's golf tournament raises awareness about domestic violence issues.

On Tuesday, July 26, over 80 women from all over the region came to play in the second annual Tee Off for Women golf tournament at Blue Fox Run in Avon. The event was sponsored by Community Renewal Team, Inc and Interval House to raise money for domestic violence programs.

According to the CRT news release, "The tournament is co-chaired by two of the state's most recognizable advocates for doemstic violence prevention: Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman and Child Advocate Jeannie Milstein.

"Proceeds from the event will benefit Interval House and CRT programs. Interval House serves survivors of domestic violence - primarily woman and children - throughout Central Connecticut with locations in Hartford, Manchester and Simsbury. CRT provides safe, supported apartments for those who are transitioning out of the Interval House shelter, so that families can heal and return to stability.
