Viewfinder: Bears and Coyotes Making Themselves at Home in Avon

Readers' photos of wildlife in Avon.

The Marioni family spotted some bears at their home at 13 Sunnyridge Road in Avon on Monday at 7 p.m. They were kind enough to share some photographs with us.

After seeing the bear photos, Jeff and Jackie Coghan told Avon Patch about eight coyote pups that roamed their yard and bushes at 15 Turnberry Lane, as well as the cul-de-sac, for five days last week.  Between communication with the Avon Police Department and the Department of Environmental Protection, Jackie said she was told that making a lot of noise, banging pots and pans, playing music, yelling would scare them off, as well as tossing tennis balls into the yard. Soon after, they left, she said. The Coghan family submitted some photos of the pups to share with all of you.
