You Said It, the Budget and Odyssey of the Mind

Five things to know about March 31, 2011

Avon Patch wants to hear your voice. No, we are not American Idol. We have a new video feature we're running every week called You Said It that poses a question of the week to residents to answer on camera. Avon Patch will be at the Avon Free Public Library on Thursday asking patrons the question of the week. Curious what it is? Please stop by!

Speaking of voices, there is a lot of budget buzz going on. The Avon Taxpayer's Association will be distributing a booklet with information about town employee compensation in the proposed budget. The booklet also includes a comparison of the town and Board of Education budget requests.

The Coalition of Citizens for Avon is hosting a "Call to Action" reception for residents supporting the proposed combined budget on April 4 from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., prior to the public budget hearing. There will be food, entertainment and information available on the green outside of the Avon Senior Center that night.
