AVON HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE PRESENTS "CHARLEY'S AUNT"

Avon High School Theatre will be presenting "Charley's Aunt" by Brandon Thomas (produced by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.) on November 15th and 16th at 7:30 PM.

"Charley's Aunt" is a hilarious farce that has been adapted into film 13 times.

Famous people who have been featured in some of these films include Jack Benny (1941) and Charlie Chaplin's half brother Sidney Chaplin (1925 silent film version).

"Charley's Aunt includes the high jinks of three Oxford University students in the late 1800s. Jack Chesney, in love with Kitty Verdun, and Charles Wykeham, in love with Amy Spettigue, arrange a luncheon for the girls to meet Charley's aunt who is visiting from Brazil. However, upon word that the aunt will be unable to attend the luncheon, the lads panic that it will be improper to visit with the girls without a chaperone. Their solution is to force their friend into a costume to impersonate the aunt. The antics build as mistaken identity and unexpected plot twists abound.
