AVON READS: One Book featuring The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks," Kickoff Event & Book Discussion at the Avon Public Library

The
Avon Free Public Library kicks off its community reading project, “AVON READS:
One Book featuring The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks,” on Thursday,
January 16, 2014 @ 7:00 pm
with a kickoff event & book discussion led
by Dr. Nels Highberg of the University of Hartford, who will lead a lively & engaging literary discussion of the book and provide
commentary for the upcoming series of programs. A kickoff
reception with refreshments will follow.



“AVON READS: One Book
featuring The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks,”
is a series of free events, films &
lectures that explore contemporary issues of medical ethics, race and
healthcare through a common book, presented by the Avon Public Library January
16 through March 14, 2014.  A complete list of all programs for this
