Avon Arts Assoc. Demonstration

The Avon Arts Assoc. will have it's meeting and painting demo on May 21, 2013 at 7:30 in the Program Room of the Avon Town Hall.
Susan Pecora will be our demo artist. Come join us for this dynamic presentation.

Our annual Scholarships will be presented to local high school seniors and there will be an opportunity to meet the winners and view some of their work. The demo will follow the scholarship presentations.

Susan will conduct a workshop on Saturday May 25 from 9:30-2:00 pm at the same location. Workshops are $25 for members, $30 for guests. Contact us at AvonArts.org for information.

Susan Tilton Pecora was raised in Marblehead, Massachusetts. In this seashore community she grew to appreciate the quality of light and the intrinsic beauty of New England. After furthering her studies in Boston she  moved to Western Mass in 1974 and studied painting with Jack Flynn, A.W.S. at Bay Path College.  She is a signature member of the New England Watercolor Society in Boston, and a former council member of the Academic Artists Association, Springfield; Copley Society Boston; Cape Cod Art Association, Barnstable and The Provincetown Art Association. She has exhibited and won awards from a variety of national organizations including: the American Artists' Professional League, NYC, NY; Knickerbocker Artists, NY; New England Watercolor Society North American Open Exhibit; The Copley Society Invitational; The Rocky Mountain National Watercolor Exhibit, Colorado; Realism in Art National Exhibition, Parkersburg Art Center, West Virginia and the Hudson Valley Art Association National Juried Exhibit, Hastings on Hudson, NY. Susan's paintings are included in the permanent collections of Western New England College, The United States Post Office, Baystate Medical Center, Northeast Utilities, Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co., Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co., Literacy Volunteers of America, The Jeol Corp, London and private collections in the U.S., France, Germany, Austria, Newfoundland and Japan.
 
Susan's painting show "Reflections Through Watercolor" has been broadcast on WGBY, the PBS Broadcasting affiliate for Western New England for the past five years.

In 2000, Susan was the artist for Willie Nelson's Farm Aid calendar. Two of Susan's paintings of local subjects were featured in the book Splash 7 - A Celebration of Light, The Best in Watercolor published by North Light Books.

Avon Arts Association meets on the third Tuesday of most months (except for July, Aug., Sept., Dec.).  Avon Arts promotes visual art in the Avon area by holding art exhibits, demonstrations, workshops, by organizing the fall Arts and Craft Show at the Avon Marketplace and by providing college scholarships for qualified high school art students.

Meetings are open to the public and refreshments will be served.
