The Avon Public Library is pleased to announce it has been selected to host a national traveling exhibition titled Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War. The exhibit will be in the Avon Library Community Room for six weeks from December 15, 2012 to February 3, 2013. The exhibit will be free and open to the public during regular library hours unless a program is scheduled.

The exhibit is organized by the National Constitution Center and American Library Association Public Programs Office and made possible by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War is supported by NEH’s We the People initiative, whose aim is to stimulate and enhance the teaching, study, and understanding of American history and culture. The grant was requested by Tina Panik and Patrice Celli of the Avon Public Library in June, 2011.
