Mandell JCC Hosts Rosalind Wiseman, Bestselling Author and Inspiration for Hit Film "Mean Girls" at 6th Annual Parenting Conference – Thursday, January 30, 2014

The Mandell JCC will be hosting New York Times bestselling author and inspiration for the hit film, “Mean Girls,” Rosalind Wiseman, at its 6th Annual Parenting Conference – A Night with Rosalind Wiseman on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 7:00pm in the Herbert Gilman Theater at the Mandell JCC, Zachs Campus, 335 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford, CT. The event is a discussion for parents of children of all ages, and teens grades 7 and up are welcome to attend.

Ms. Wiseman is an internationally recognized expert on children, teens, parenting, bullying, social justice and ethical leadership. Her New York Times bestseller Queen Bees and Wannabes: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends, and the new Realties of Girl World was the inspiration for Tina Fey’s hit film “Mean Girls.” Recently, her latest book, Masterminds & Wingmen: Helping Our Boys Cope with Schoolyard Power, Locker-Room Tests, Girlfriends, and the new Rules of Boy World, was voted one of National Public Radio’s (NPR) Great Reads of 2013.

She is a frequent guest on the Today Show and Anderson Cooper 360, and has been profiled in The New York Times, People, The Washington, Post USA Today, CNN, Good Morning America, and NPR affiliates throughout the country. In 2011, she was one of the principal speakers at the White House Summit on Bullying.
