Richard Provost, Noted Classical Guitarist, to Perform at Avon Free Public Library

The Avon Public Library’s winter concert series, “Sundays at Three,” continues on February 9 with a solo performance by one of this country’s outstanding classical guitarists, Richard Provost.

Founder and former chair of the guitar department at the Hartt School, University of Hartford, Mr. Provost is regarded as one of the country’s leading guitar pedagogues. Mr. Provost will be performing a program he is calling “Musical Impressions,” a fascinating musical exploration of the works of six composers, ranging from Johann Sebastian Bach, to contemporary Russian composer-guitarist Nikita Koshkin. Refreshments will be served after the performance, and there will be an opportunity to meet Mr. Provost.
