Having your dog Microchipped is so Important. There was a recent story of a dog in New Hampshire that went missing 5 yrs ago. She was a Katrina Dog, newly adopted to a family and she got away, leash and all. The family searched and searched (before social media) for years and even eventually rescued another dog. Never knowing what happened to their Katrina Dog Sadie.
Then just a couple days ago a rescue group in MA captured a dog that has been on the run for years by the neighbors alerting GSDR (rescue group) about the loose dog. The neighbors have seen this dog on and off for YEARS, well she was finally caught. She was taken to a vet and she was Microchiped.
She has been reunited with her original owners from 5 yrs ago. They were elated to find out their Sadie was still alive and now they can all live happily ever after.
That's why having your dog microchipped is so important. I know I will be having mine chipped!
