Feinstein Foundation Pledges $1 Million to Match Donor Contributions to End Hunger

Although the holidays are over, the need for food among our low-income neighbors is not.  To this end, The Feinstein Foundation will divide $1 million among anti-hunger agencies nationwide that raise funds during the months of March and April that are committed to ending hunger. To take advantage of this giving opportunity, Gifts of Love and Community Farm of Simsbury’s “Spring Campaign to End Hunger” has begun.  Donations received during March and April will support the organization’s efforts to receive matching funds through the Feinstein Foundation pledge.

Founded in 1991 by Alan Shawn Feinstein, The Feinstein Foundation is dedicated to the alleviation of hunger, the importance of community service in education and the values of caring, compassion and brotherhood. This is the 17th consecutive year that Alan Shawn Feinstein has pledged to donate and divide $1 million among hunger-fighting agencies.

For every dollar or pound of food Gifts of Love and Community Farm of Simsbury receive throughout March and April, The Feinstein Foundation will donate to the organization.  The million dollar pledge will be divided among all agencies based on how much they raise.  Past challenges have raised more than $2.0 billion for more than  1800 agencies and houses of worship nationwide that are committed to helping those in need.
